Donald Trump Briefly Evacuated During Presser After Shooting Outside White House

Washington, United States: Secret Service guards shot a person, who was apparently armed, outside the White House on Monday, President Donald Trump said just after being briefly evacuated in the middle of a press conference.
The president was abruptly ushered out of the press event and black-clad secret service agents with automatic rifles rushed across the lawn north of the White House.

Minutes later, Trump reappeared at the press conference, where journalists had been locked in, and announced that someone had been shot outside the White House grounds.

The Secret Service tweeted that it “can confirm there has been an officer involved shooting at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.”

“Law enforcement shot someone, it seems to be, the suspect. And the suspect is on the way to the hospital,” he said.

Trump said he knew nothing about the identity or motives of the person shot, but when asked if the person had been armed, he answered: “From what I understand, the answer is yes.”

“It might not have had anything to do with me,” Trump added, saying the incident took place “on the outside” of the White House perimeter.

“I don’t believe anything was breached, they were relatively far away,” he added.

Outside the White House, the situation was calm, but a portion of the surrounding streets had been blocked off, with a number of police and other official vehicles converging towards the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Philipos Melaku, a protester who has been camping in front of the White House for years, said he had heard a shot fired at around 5:50 pm (2150 GMT).

“I heard a gunshot and before that I heard screaming,” he told AFP.

“It was a male voice,” he said. “After that immediately, pointing their AR-15s, at least eight or nine men came in running.”

Following the security scare, Trump returned almost immediately to the White House podium where he resumed his scheduled press conference.

Asked if he was rattled by the incident, he replied: “The world’s always been a dangerous place. It’s not something that’s unique.”

Trump went onto praise the Secret Service as “fantastic people, the best of the best.”

“I feel very safe with Secret Service,” he said. “A lot of terrific looking people ready to go if something was necessary.”

Center wants to ba party in Bollywood actor deathcase transfer petition

The probe into Sushant’s death at his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14 has been a bone of contention between Bihar and Maharashtra
The Union government approached the Supreme Court on Friday to be made a party in the transfer petition filed by actor Rhea Chakraborty challenging the case against her in Bihar in the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput.

“The impleadment is in the interest of justice and would not cause prejudice to any of the parties in the present transfer petition,” the Centre told the top court.

The actor wants the FIR filed against her quashed on the ground that the Bihar Police lacks jurisdiction to probe the case.

The FIR accuses Rhea and her family of abetting the 34-year-old actor’s suicide. The case is now being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The apex court had recently sought responses from Bihar, Maharashtra and Krishna Kishore Singh, father of the late actor, on Rhea’s plea.

The probe into Sushant’s death at his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14 has been a bone of contention between Bihar and Maharashtra.

Before the CBI stepped in, the two states – Maharashtra and Bihar – were locked in a battle over who has the right to investigate the case. While the Mumbai police has claimed it had the exclusive right since the incident occurred under its jurisdiction, the Bihar police filed an affidavit on Friday claiming that Section 179 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) says offence may be inquired into or tried by a court where the consequence of an offence has ensued. In this case, the consequence of the unnatural death was in Patna, where the late actor’s family resides.

The Bihar government, in an affidavit filed through advocate Keshav Mohan, said that the non-cooperation “casts a serious aspersion on the role of Mumbai police, who is apparently siding with the petitioner for the reasons best known to them.”

Crucial case evidence such as inquest, post-mortem and FSL (forensic science laboratory) reports, CCTV (closed-circuit TV) footage etc have not been provided to Bihar Police despite several requests, the affidavit stated.

In their probe so far, the Bihar Police claimed to have recorded statements of 10 persons linked to Rajput. The Bihar SIT even verified bank account details of Rajput based on his father’s complaint that close to Rs 15 crore were transferred from his account to unknown persons not linked to him. The father had even complained that his son’s finances, including bank account and credit cards, were being looked after by Chakraborty.

“Given the sensitivity of the matter and the inter-state ramification and presence of most of the accused in Mumbai,” the Bihar top cop recommended the investigation of the case to be handed over to the CBI.

With the case now firmly resting in CBI’s hands, Bihar’s jurisdiction is out and it is the Centre which Maharashtra has to contest against in continuing with its probe. A fresh petition came up before the Supreme Court on Friday which demanded that the entire case has not yet gone to CBI as the agency is only examining the FIR filed by Bihar Police.

The petition, filed by a law student, Dwivendra Dubey, failed to impress a three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde.

“You are a total stranger who is unnecessarily interfering in the case. The victim’s father is pursuing the case,” the court said dismissing the petition.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appeared in the matter to inform that the CBI has taken over the probe from Patna police.

Rhea’s transfer petition remains the focus as the apex court had clarified on Wednesday that it would determine which investigation agency has jurisdiction to probe the case.

The Mumbai police is yet to respond while the Bihar police has dismissed Rhea’s petition to be “misconceived, premature and not maintainable”.

“The possibility of the Rhea Chakraborty case being argued out on the next date in the Supreme Court can only be possible if the Maharashtra government defends its jurisdiction.

“The CBI cannot operate without express consent of Maharashtra. I also see the possibility of Mumbai Police completing its probe and putting it before the Court on the next date and saying we have nothing more to investigate. Only a thin chance remains that Maharashtra will accept the situation as fait accompli and concede ground to CBI, which I doubt will happen,” Senior advocate Sanjay Hegde told Hindustan Times. On the otherhand The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had initiated a money-laundering probe based on the Patna Police’s FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her family and others in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. Today, in the morning, Rhea arrived at the ED office for the interrogation. SSR’s former manager Shruti Modi, Rhea’s father and brother Showik Chakraborty were also interrogated at the ED office yesterday.
The agency had summoned the ‘Jalebi’ actress to record her statement in connection to her major property investments made in Mumbai.
SSR’s former manager Shruti Modi, Rhea’s father and brother were also interrogated today at the ED office. According to ANI, ED has also asked Sushant’s friend Siddharth Pithani to appear before the agency tomorrow, 8th August.

Meanwhile, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) received a request from the Central government to probe the death of SSR, the agency has filed an FIR in the case on Thursday.

On August 6, yesterday, India Today had found that between January 20 and January 24, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty made 25 calls to Sushant Singh Rajput, who was in Chandigarh at his sister’s place at the time. This was a day after the Sushant Singh Rajput death case was officially handed over to the CBI. Rhea, Sushant Singh Rajput’s former girlfriend, is the main suspect in the late actor’s death case, ever since Rajput’s father KK Singh filed an FIR in Patna’s Rajiv Nagar Police Station where he accused Rhea and her family of abetment to suicide, pocketing Rs 15 crore from Rajput’s bank account, and harassment.

India Today Television had tracked Rhea Chakraborty’s phone call details, which reveal that in November 2019, Sushant Singh Rajput had called for help, even booked his tickets to Chandigarh, while Rhea allegedly made him stay back.

Sushant then changed his number in December 2019.

Later, Sushant Singh Rajput made another call for help, this time from his new number. A family source revealed that he had said Rhea and her family were pressurising him on mental health grounds. He said that he would wind up his life from Mumbai and settle down somewhere in Himachal Pradesh.

Sushant Singh Rajput decided to drive all the way from Mumbai to Chandigarh because he complained of claustrophobia due to wrong medication. Sushant Singh Rajput stayed in Chandigarh with his sister Rani for two days and regained his strength.

When Siddharth Pithani, Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend, tipped Rhea Chakraborty off about the late actor going to Chandigarh on his own, Rhea made him return to Mumbai. That is when she made 25 calls in a span of 3-4 days during his journey and stay in Chandigarh. Sushant eventually returned from Chandigarh on January 24-25.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra, Mumbai home on June 14 this year.

Salman Khan Involved In Sushant’s ‘Murder’; Tried To Blow Up My Car, Says Close Relative

Mumbai: Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s relative Devej Narain has alleged that Bollywood’s ‘Wanted’ actor Salman Khan and his family are involved in the actor’s death by suicide.

Narain also alleged that Congress MLA Baba Siddiqui, who is Salman’s close friend, is protecting the actor from Mumbai Police.

Devej Narain, who is the father-in-law of Sushant’s elder sister Shweta Singh Kirti, took to his Twitter handle recently to make these allegations against Salman Khan.

Narain tagged Prime Minister of India, RAW, NIA, and Special Branch in his tweet and appealed to PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray to order a probe into Sushant’s suicide case.

The politician also revealed on Twitter that Salman Khan had tried to blow up his daughter’s car and posted derogatory remarks in the comment section of his tweet.

Strangely, when Sushant Singh Rajput’s ardent followers tried to track Devej Narain’s Twitter account, they found it to be missing from the social media platform.

Narain’s account was deleted from Twitter.

Here’s what Devej had posted:

After Devej Narain’s Twitter account was deleted, fans took to social media to demand justice for Sushant Singh Rajput.

Earlier, politician Roopa Ganguly had alleged that someone was accessing late Sushant’s Instagram handle and was deleting posts from it. She alleged that someone was tampering with the evidence and demanded a CBI probe into the matter.
